Special Seating For Children ... |
When travelling with children, once you've booked your trip away make sure you contact the airline you are flying with, or ask the travel agent, what the policy is with regards to seating for children.
In many cases the bulkhead seats in the aircraft, situated in the front cabin sections are reserved for families. These seats have facilities for small children and babies. However, sometimes these can be pre-booked in advance whilst other times they are allocated at check-in so you'd need to make sure you check-in nice and early. |

Check-in For Families ... |
It's best to arrive for check-in, when flying with children from Prestwick Airport, as early as possible. This way you can make sure that you and your family secure a bulkhead seat and also, if these aren't available, you are all seated together. Always ask if the plane is full, as if not, you might be able to be seated next to some empty seats, allowing your little ones to spread out. This will also help them sleep.
When planning to leave home work out how long it will take to get to Prestwick Airport - then, to be prepared for any little 'emergencies' leave at least thirty minutes before.
Make sure you know where you are going so plan your route to the airport in advance. And see if there will be any planned road works, delays or diversions that you can be prepared for. At the very least make sure there's a road map in the car.

Avoid any unnecessary time wasting by pre-booking your airport parking.
And when travelling with children look into pre-booking a meet and greet parking service. This way you and your family don't have to drive to a distant car park, get onto a transfer bus and spend another twenty minutes or so getting to the airport.
You just unload your family and luggage right outside the terminal, where your meet and greet Rep is waiting to take your car to a secure car park, and you go right on in to check in. On your way back your car is waiting for you right outside the airport with the meet and greet Rep, regardless of whether your flight is running late.
Once the boarding gate has been displayed start making your way there. Then, as a family, you will be able to board the plane first, before the other passengers. You can spend more time settling your family, getting everything you need out of your hand luggage and speak to the cabin crew about any queries you might have before take off.

Advice On How To Buy Baby Foods Abroad ... |

Where to Buy Baby Food
This guide aims to eliminate any concerns you might have about travelling overseas with your baby and how you will find suitable foods. The guide provides some helpful advice about purchasing your baby essentials whilst away including foods and nappies, and importantly advice on the correct bottled water to give your baby safely for drinking.
It's advised to pack a certain amount of baby foods in your suitcases so you have a supply of food and milk as soon as you are unpacked. This saves rushing off out in a panic trying to find emergencies supplied – it’s especially worth packing some cartons of formula milk too if you have a baby.
Safe Water For Drinking
Very Important Information - do not give your baby or toddler tap water when overseas - it will upset their tummies and can be dangerous.
Give your baby bottled water for drinking. This bottled water must contain less than 30 Na of sodium - just look on the bottle's label. When making up formula use bottled water also and boil it first as you would back in the UK. If you’re travelling to Spain many of their pharmacies sell specially distilled water for babies.
Milk Powder
Pharmacies stock formula milk for babies, not supermarkets in Europe. Also, don't expect to find your regular brand on the shelf though. For instance, Cow & Gate is called Almiron in Spain. For more information about buying your particular brand of milk overseas you should call the telephone advice line on the pack of your milk packet.
Tins Of Baby Food
Families with babies or small toddlers who are holidaying in Europe will find it very easy to buy baby food in jars. Local supermarkets, although if you are somewhere remote then try a larger main supermarket, should all stock a good selection of baby foods and snacks. As will most pharmacies. Hero is a very available baby food in Spain and across Europe. Hipp is also readily available as are products from Nestle.
Buying Nappies
Nappies can be bought in almost all supermarkets where you'll find the main brands like as Pamper and Huggies available. Please note that in many European Countries cotton nappies are very rare, particularly in Spain, so if you normally use re-useable nappies then you may need to consider using disposables whilst you are away.
